So recently I have noticed the increase of people that just stand at the beginning of strikes, but in the game I just had the two people ran to the very end of the strike and hid in safe spots and didn't help throughout the strike until I went and sat with one of them because I refused to carry them through. They then started shooting me and punching me as if I was doing something wrong?
Something needs to be done to people like this.
Edit:
It's nice seeing all of peoples views on this, some agreeing some not and its nice to see why they think the way they do.
Some people seems to find this a good chance to rather troll or are getting a bit upset on it, more then likely they are one of them, but some of the things they have said such as " get a fireteam and this wont happen" not everyone has someone to play with 24/7 some people go to work/school/college etc and its unfair on people that want to do their strikes quickly and not have to put up with the extra killing that gets put upon them.
Overall Its good seeing that most people support it and I'll like to read more of peoples experiences with these and solutions to them.
-Would be nice to see a Bungie's developers view of this.
-
Stfu you little cry baby. If you don't like playing with randoms, put together your own fireteam. For -blam!-s sake, people need to stop crying about this shit.
-
When I was a lower level I used to get mad but now I couldn't really care
-
Here's what can be done about them: go to orbit, select roc, matchmaker again, find new team.
-
If they dont move for more than a minute i find a place to put them in a death loop >:)
-
I give them a minute and quit if they don't start playing. No way am I encouraging this behaviour by carrying them. I would rather go to orbit one shot away from killing the final boss.
-
And people who steam ahead, die and whipe you
-
Just AFK with them or kill yourself to wipe the team. If someone is AFKing strikes, they're not actually away from their controller. Just piss them off and waste their time until they play or leave. Other things you can do are to leave or just deal with it and play the game.
-
Need no crutches to finish the strike.
-
I could care less what other players do, I don't need them to complete my task nor do I care what rng gives them. Your poll is onesided and therefore invalid

Edited by BLAZE: 2/3/2015 5:41:24 AMYou're most likely one of the scrubs that lures the nexus away from my blackhammer while you shoot him with some shitty primary. come on bungie, please give me a option away from these idiots
-
Step 1: Exit Strike Step 2: Shut Up
-
Usually i hop on my sparrow and ram them into a wall to kill them, i the proceed to leave the game and find a lobby with active players :)
-
This annoys the hell out of me. Bump for sure
-
Edited by Tamanator1: 2/3/2015 5:14:05 AMI don't hate on them but it is frustrating. Not quite at the skill level to solo so I need the other player. If after 5-10 minutes and still no input I'm back in orbit looking for another team. Time waster for sure.
-
This has been an issue forever. Bungie doesn't give a single fûck about you guys, why can't you see that? They don't see you as people, they see you as money. That's all.
-
I just leave, which isn't fair to the third person playing but it's not fair for for anyone when people just want to get freebies. Roc takes up enough time along with the raids on multiple characters, I'm not going to waste time on those strikes because someone isn't there but wants the benefits. Now on a raid team, I will grind it out as long as they are listening and playing smart
-
if you need to go afk, go to orbit. if purposely afk just to get free loot/exp, you deserve an account ban for 24 hours, simple.
-
Anyone using the "but life happens, my kids, I need a drink, gotta smoke" excuse need to learn to go to orbit. It's not that hard and shows respect for the players you are afk'ing on.

Sparrow justice

I don't really care to be honest. Don't get me wrong it is aggravating. And in the ops situation I would report them. But otherwise who knows why they went afk. Tho people should just leave so another player can pop in. That being said I can solo any of the roc strikes so I really don't care as long as they aren't being rude like the ops situation

Edited by OldboyVicious: 2/2/2015 11:40:16 PMRight as the Omnigul Strike started yesterday, I got a text. I put down my controller, texted back, looked back up at my screen and had been pushed off the edge. A couple of minutes of getting back up and a few deaths due to kill zones later, & I went on to get the most kills in the strike with no deaths. At the end I got a message. "Sorry for reporting you for afk in the beginning." At least wait a minute or two before reporting someone. EDIT: I was a solo player on Roc strikes playing with randoms.
-
It's easy go to orbit find new squad. Or find some friends and play with them.
-
The "get a fireteam" bs is ridiculous. I do raid, weekly and nf w my fireteam, and I certainly don't pull together a team for strikes. Just silly. I'm w op, and the issue isn't w him. It is w the afk people and the need for a remedy.
-
First I kill them with my sparrow then I tea bag there ghost. Rinse and repeat and either A) they leave the game and send a hate message b) they finally move and try to AFK again and I do plan a again and report there profile as well or c) they quit and find a new fire team :)
-
After hundreds of hours of playtime, I've only run into a couple of AFK people, both in the Crucible. Isn't this problem a bit exaggerated?
-
Usually i will keep pushing them off an edge until they "wake up"
