Still haven't been able to solo all of CE and most the "advice " Ive gotten was 'get ghorn' . had db last time I tried but it wasn't upgraded to the flare at the time. So ice breaker + slowarlock = not enough time for me

yes any weapons can be used up till crota, when you get to crota gjallahorn is a must for a solo, hunger of crota is not good enough and hezen vengence has just too low rate of fire, DB doesn't do enough damage and makes him move so it's useless.

Ghorn isn't needed to solo him.

Edited by bilid: 2/2/2015 4:53:05 PMi don't think it is possible at all without gjallahorn, no other rocket can take down crotas shield fast enough, maybe a hezen vengence as it has 3 in the mag and doesn't cause crota to move, the deathsinger part is easily solo able, i've done it plenty of times with just a black hammer and 2 hunger of crota shots, (was testing out necrochasm, btw shit for the whole raid, apart from light pillars part). what i would do is clear left side wizard and shrieker first then right, and clear the knights with swords in the right room, and deathsingers song should start, stand at the back of the room and pull out the black hammer, it's about 6 black hammer head shots to kill her.

Again a weapon I do not have :-p Oh well if I have to wait until rngesus stops being a douche with ghorn then I'll wait... Or listen to the most amusing advice I've received which was "stop being slow, roll a hunter" lol

no it think warlocks and titans are best for solo, hunter are for the less capable, those who have to hide in the shadows, blend in with the surroundings. and a special or heavy is guranteed from normal crota on your first attempt so by now u should have a black hammer or hunger of crota, that is if you have 3 characters.

Every time I've been in that raid has been solo (or with the wife there helping) mainly to see how far I can get, what loot I get, or to try this or that I read about. So sadly, no, I have not yet had the pleasure of popping crota in the face.

then get a team together and go for it, it's alot of fun, and trying to solo crota for your first ever attempt isn't a good idea, your gonna be there a while, on the day of release took my team, all lvl 30 and 2 31s about an hr to come up with a stratergy and kill him, one of the first legit 100, then after that there all cheesers.
