Dragons Breath - It's better than you might think.
As the title reads above, I believe Dragons Breath is better than many of you may think. Better than Gjallahorn in many cases.
[i]I am not saying it replaces Ghorn in every encounter, just in some situations.[/i]
I run DB in Crota's End in every phase except for the Crota fight with extreme success.
Lamps - Drop a huge blast with the Flare at a lamp and let your fireteam recover breifly.
Dropping a blast in your path will cause the thrall to disperse all over the place, often killing themselves falling into holes.
And lastly, firing it at the base of the bridge, keeps thrall back, while you wait for it to build and while you sprint across the bridge.
Bridge- If you know the lanes where the mobs spawn, you can spam them with DB, dealing significant damage to them as soon as they exit.
Hallway - 1 DB rocket at 331 kills a shrieker. Also, firing the rockets into the hallway, clears it of thralls for your runner to make the 2nd chest.
Ir Yut- This encounter is where the Rocket Launcher really shines. After killing both wizards, and clearing the shriekers on both sides, rush left and dump 5 remaining DB's shells into her and she literally melts. She barely moves, and basically sits in the AOE damage the whole time. Not to mention it deals TONS of damage to the adds around her.
[i]Also, most of the strike bosses hardly move, which makes DB extremely effective for them. Such as the devil walker, valas, phogoth, sepikis, the templar in VOG and the nexus. The list goes on and on.[/i]

Love my D Breath. I've been using it lately with the solar flare to get Crotas shield down. Goes pretty fast!

Agree DB is a great rocket launcher. Wish the flare lasted a little longer though. I was lucky enough to have both the ghjall and icebreaker...but put it away in inventory so I can use my DB, Truth, and Thunderlord more often. So much fun:)

What irritates me about DB is that it doesn't combo with Sunbreakers. That would have made it a boss!

There are weapons of complete devastation and weapons of ruthless assault. I think Dragon's Breath falls closer to the assault variety. Also, I think this weapon is class specific: If you have a maxed Void Walker Warlock, coupled with a maxed Dragon's Breath, you're an elemental nightmare!

I received my Dragons Breath before my Ghorn and I still love it. Nice to see someone else who appreciates it.

Dragons breath is deff a good heavy launcher in a lot of cases. I don't have ghorn :( but every time I see it in use it knocks a big chunk of health of bosses. So what ever it does extra out beats everything. I like using dragons breath on phogath cuz he's fat and moves slowly so the solar flare does good damage on him.

Hahaha OP presents a good argument about the benefits of the DB, everyone else's argument is pretty much "nuh uh!" Bitches gonna bitch I guess. I used DB on crota for the first 5 or 6 weeks before I got ballerhorn with no problems, L2aim scrubs

At least you admit it is insufficient at crota. And that is why ppl love ghorn. I rarely rock ghorn cuz 1st hawkmoon 2nd it is very situational

As a Swordbearer, I trust it more than Gjallarhorn to drop Crota, seeing as the DoT ensures that no lag allows for the shield to regen.

They are 2 diffrent intended rocket launchers.... unfortunetley this game doesn't require alot of a need for crowd control Ghorn is a single target killer. DB is a Crowd control killer. Yes the DB will work fine against targets who dont move or get rooted in place for something. IF bungie wanted DB to be a Single target killer they would of made the rockets sun dot stick to a target if its a direct hit. but they wanted to have a good crowd control rocket launcher. ANd yes the Ghorn can be used as crowd control but thats more because its a rocket launcher and not because of the perks.

2 RepliesMeh it's good But in abyss apparently IB does what you claim BD does, but better. For the bridge ghorn does more DPS to the ogres/wizard, and controlling the lanes isn't much of a challenge to start with. In the thrallway-for the first shreiker DB is better, however for the second one I would use two ghorn rockets since even though its less ammo efficient, it's faster. For ir yut-yeah that sounds pretty awesome, maybe il level my DB just for that. /RespectingYourOpinionAndStatingMyOwn

I believe you OP I have my Ghorn maxed and working on maxing DB and it's been very useful (and fun to use) like you said if you know spawn points DB wrecks, if you want to clear a zone and keep it clear for a few seconds it's nice to have. One thing I would say though (for me at least) is that I disagree about the boss enemies like Phogoth etc. Lately my Ghorn is used only for single enemy's like the above mentioned, wolf pack seems to excel more when it comes to single targets.

2 Repliesi have dragon s breath and gjallarhorn too. gjallarhorn and icebreaker > hawkmoon> the rest of the guns in destiny, but i have to say that i like using my dragon s breath a lot due to the solar grenade explosion :D it is very good in the first step of the raid, and it is very good in the yir yut part of the raid.
