Definitely not the best picture you can buy. MOST newer LED TVs have better pictures than plasmas. All 4K and OLED are better and 10K is already showing up. The only two things that's good about plasma is the refresh rate (hrtz) and price. They are considerably cheaper than LED TVs right now because LEDs are better.

Edited by navybeardbb: 1/29/2015 4:45:32 AMThe plasma market was killed because they cost too much to make. Pioneer had the best technology and sold it to Panasonic because plasma wasn't profitable. The TV industry was able to convince people LCD was the best. Now most people have LCDs with 60hz or 120hz that ghost like no tomorrow. I'd take a cheap plasma over a mid range LCD/LED any day. Too bad that's about to end this year.
-
Lol, 4k for a 1080p and lower console..
-
What! Plasma is a far superior picture. Google it.
-
Yes because Google is never wrong.

A couple years ago they were. Read some reviews. The panasonic ST50 got incredible reviews over any led. Maybe today led has improved a lot but none of my friends tvs look better than mine, not even close. Plus input lag is real on most led tvs.
-
I'm also talking about real LED TVs no led lcd or side emitting led TVs. 240hz is plenty fast, the human eye can't see the difference past that. Kinda like 60fps we all want more but we will never see the difference. We can only see about 48fps anything over that is just for bragging rights.
-
There doesnt exist a true LED tv all LED tvs are LCD TVs that uses LED backlight in some way).

Edited by RiteToRmnSilent: 1/29/2015 2:09:14 AMIf you're talking about oled tvs they weren't even on the market when I got this. They aren't perfect either. The blue pixels last I knew faded fast. Maybe they improved that now but they're super expensive. Any led tvs 99% of people have right now is an led lcd. Different back lighting, same monitor technology.

On a near future I bet on QDLED, but eventually after all this 4K image size push passes we will start to see panels with better color reproduction encompassing 90% or more of the Rec. 2020 gamut on the consumer market. The days of 8bit Rec.709 are counted after all.
-
Show me a 144hz plasma Ahahaha
-
Plasma's aren't affected by motion blur or artifacts like LED/LCD's, so they don't need to artificially boost refresh rate like LED"s. In all fairness, those who do tout plasmas has having a 600Hz refresh rate aren't really being truthful either.
-
I guess you won't understand unless you use a properly set up 1080p plasma to see how much better they look.

Edited by HIGGZY420: 1/29/2015 2:20:54 AMI don't need to, there's a reason the gaming leagues use monitors not TV's. I've never seen a 1ms input lag TV. BenQ for the win
-
I think my tv has a 5ms lag. For a 50 inch tv, that's pretty incredible. I'm not super pro mlg no scopes so I don't need 1ms. 5 isn't noticeable in anyway shape or form.

Edited by Zediii: 1/29/2015 1:59:57 AMYea. They are 600hz. Just a tad bit faster ;-)
