Part of the story problem with Destiny is that it is not done. Look at an early MMO (I realize this technically is not an MMO) and you get disjointed info that is not properly fleshed out. Bungie took a big leap in creating a new universe and attempting to tie together a series of events that would be viable for the long run of the game. Since they are running a long term plan the story will probably only really make sense when it is fully revealed which will not be for several years. The real killer is there lack of explanation of anything! The grimoire allows us to kind of piece together stuff as this timeline does an excellent job of doing, gj HobbitMaster12, but it would be much more interesting for players if these tidbits of information existed in game (ie cut scenes).
As for Mass Effect 3, most people were upset because in the end your choices were supposed to have the big effect but ended up not really mattering.
