If you're tired of people killing everything in strikes try this!
If you're like me and you rush past everything, but there's that 1 guy lagging behind killing stuff then help a guardian out. Get to the checkpoint and then kill yourself. More than likely you'll be the only guardian at that checkpoint when you are playing with these slow unhelpful people so it will just wipe the group and respawn everyone at the checkpoint you just died at. Easy way to tell if you're the only one at a check point is to just look at your radar. If you don't see any green on it then you're the only one in that checkpoint. So if you wanna be the boss and set the pace of the strike then give this a try!!!! Works well for me

Usually in with my friend so I really don't care. Your only in the same strike because we can't launch with two. Gjallerhorn is a better 3rd teammate anyway so if you're way back at the beginning chances are the boss is going to be dead before your done killing all the small fries and get a chance to catch up to us. The best part... On the remote slim chance there was any good drop while your wasting time... It'll be back at the post master for me :)

I don't mind speedrunners: just make sure that if you do and you want your entire pug to conform, at least get a mic and inform them that you're gonna skip ALL adds instead going full retard by killing yourself and bringing them along. I, for one, appreciate Guardians who simply play the strike. Put the loot aside and you'll realize that strikes are meant to be an experience co-op with other Guardians.

And people wonder why there's no Raid, Heroic, and Nightfall Matchmaking. Just reading this thread is all the proof you need. I don't really agree with Ovenmitten OR Ninjambee. I just go through and act like I'm the only one there. Skip mobs when I can, and push to the end. Strikes are easy anyway. No need to cause a wipe, and definitely no need to go in AFK and check you email. I would never hope to be matched with either of you.

1 ReplyMore often than not, I run through as well, but if I'm in the mood to stick around an kill some trash mobs and you do that, I'd probably head back and finish killing them out of spite. If you get pissed and leave, what does that matter to me? Any of the strike playlists are manageable to solo worst case scenario.

What do you do when you are the middle man. I will speed run or kill everything dont matter to me. I love the game for what it is and enjoy all game styles. But when one guy runs ahead and one stays back what do you do? I usually have a hard time leaving the one guy behind and turn around and go back for him. Dont know if the front man is annoyed or not but I hate the feeling of leaving someone behind. The it gets to a point where some of these guys seem to just be wasting time killing and checking inv, rinse repeat. I do however love the suicide runs in darkness zones to get the lagging behind guy, who doesnt want to do the strike but doesnt want to leave so you can do the work for him, caught up to make him work.

Awh so that's how that's done lol, wow okay. I'm typically a sprinter for strikes unless I have bounties, but I never leave people behind, one straggler sure let em do his thing keep going if the other doesn't want to wait. I'll take people who want to shoot everything over afk any day of the week, I actually think it's more fun to kill everything

not that i need to kill everything while in ROC strikes, however if you force-spawn me to your checkpoint (which you're allowed to do, even so you DENY others playing the way they want), i will just run around said checkpoint and let YOU do all the killing, as THAT is what being UNHELPFUL is all about ;)

That really is a selfish attitude. For example I usually use a glimmer consumable when I'm running through Vanguard Roc. Killing all the little adds give me far more glimmer then racing to the boss and killing it for 50. Though I feel like I've been pretty lucky with vanguard strikes, since I usually don't seem to run into the AFK problems people have and haven't really run into people that wipe on purpose. If you look on the forums though you'd think those both would be huge huge problems.

if you like to enjoy the game and don't give a -blam!- about whine-babies rushing on their own, then do as i do. Once they kill themselves multiple times to get you at a check point, hop on your sparrow and boost that shit all the way back to where you were in seconds. If they kill themselves again, rinse and repeat.

6 RepliesIf you can't beat the boss on your own either run with a group that wants to speedrun or calm the fvck down and be a team player. Nobody's going to like you when you wreck every Stand Tall attempt they make because they want to actually play the game and you're too weak to solo despite insisting it has to be done quickly.
