I'll be interested to see how the forums take this post with a video linked of someone actually using it. Whenever someone says this without a video, you just get a bunch of people who tell you it's balanced. Either they've never faced a good team of Spears in their life, or they actually use the Spear themselves, and don't want it nerfed because that's the only way they can get kills. Edit: Seems like people still think it's balanced. Lmao.

  • If it comes from you I believe you. But since I don't play PvP I re-rolled mine till it was good for PvE. It's a beast.

  • While you're at it, could you also ban Supers, heavies, shotguns (at a range closer than 10 feet, anything beyond that is fine), fusion rifles, handcannons, exotic armor with good perks, Shoulder Charge, Warlock melee, grenades, double jump abilities, and all perks?

  • I know your post isn't serious, but I'll give you a serious reply anyway. Banning supers would break the balance of the game. Sunsingers would be OP. Heavies are map control, and all the shotguns/fusions are alright, besides Pocket Infinity for its ability to counter supers/heavy. HC's are very powerful but not gamebreaking enough to warrant a nerf. Maybe the only thing I'd change is TLW's random 111 hits while ADS. Removing Shoulder Charge would make Titans useless, especially since they're already the most underpowered class. Warlock melee and grenades keep them competitive with Hunters. You're confusing me for someone who just got destroyed in Crucible and then comes on the forums to complain. I've realised that the only way to prove the gun is overpowered is to just use it myself against randoms, and that's exactly what I'm doing. Made a new character and it's at like a 4.8 K/D because I just waste all my bullets and bodyshot people with the Spear. Hopefully I'm playing some forum users and making them realise how ridiculous the gun is.

  • You can't rightly believe Titan's are the most underpowered class in the game...

  • For PvP they are. Defender is terrible in PvP and the bubble is basically just glorified area denial, but it isn't even that, because it's countered by every other super except Radiance. The only time it's good is occasionally on a Control point, or in Rumble against a bunch of noobs that don't know any better than to try and walk inside the bubble. Strikers have a terrible super that will rarely get more than one kill and barely produce any orbs for the team. Shoulder Charge is a gimmick that doesn't really hold up against higher skill players who can see it coming from a mile away. Grenades and melee on both subclasses are pretty mediocre and are nowhere near as good as Warlock's.

  • Okay, time for a dispute. Defender is amazing in Crucible. It's probably the second easiest class to play as. Armor of Light allows Ward of Dawn to counter every special in the game outside of Fist of Havoc. In the event that someone runs into it here's how that plays out. Arc Blader- runs inside, gets two pieced by shotgun melee. Or one shotted by a pretimed fusion rifle. Their only option becomes spamming Razor's Edge and the titan can just jump over that until they give up (or mess up). Pair with Helm of Saint 14 for ridiculous efficiency in taking out entire teams. Golden Gun- wastes two out of 3 (potentially 4) shots to destroy the barrier. In that time of about a second and a half, the titan who sees the activation can run away easily. (max agility titans move faster than max agility hunters by jumping and boosting with increased control.) So long as they jump low, the hunter can't jump and shoot them from above. And assuming the Titan is smart enough to place his ward in an area where he can't be flanked that won't be a problem anyway. Void Walker- basically the same scenario as the Gunslinger. Except that Vortex will allow the warlock to damage the titan inside if he chooses not to run. Otherwise shatter and potentially lance can destroy the ward without damaging the Titan. The endlag suffered from the warlock allows the titan to fire back at the same time or before, setting them both at neutral at best. Sunsinger- runs inside, gets two pieced, or three pieced if using radiant skin. Also, auto shotties like Found verdict or invective don't even require the melee. Striker- Fist of havoc wins every time. So titans can only effectively be hard countered by titans. In the event that you're playing with people who DON'T run inside, (smart players) then you can switch it up and run blessing of light. Each time you pop out and shoot you might get hit, sure. But you can just go back in and get another shield for the entire team. Placing a ward isn't something you do without knowing how to use it. They're better placed around corners where the opponent can't see. It gives the titan and his team an area to retreat to and get buffs before coming onto the battlefield again. Strikers on the other hand, I don't use them often but Fist of Havoc is an undeniable clutch special. When used at the right times it can turn the tide of a game. It allows them to tank shots from golden gun and literally every other super or form of heavy ammo outside of maybe gjallarhorn. I've tanked GG shots without even having unstoppable equipped. I've tanked Nova Bombs. taken out two arc bladers who were slicing me simultaneously, killed a fireborn warlock with my aftermath before he could even run away, it's just really good. If you're getting killed after using it then you aren't a patient player. Talk about barely producing orbs, that's the Bladedancer. 1 orb every two kills. It's a problem really. Shoulder charge can be prewound up on walls to avoid the entire seen it coming thing. I don't feel like you really find it to be a gimmick either, because you mentioned earlier that Titans would be useless without it. Barrier melee is really effective if you can get one off. Using unbreakable helps greatly against auto or pulse rifle users, as the barrier is better than the warlock scorch melee shield. It recharging when not taking damage makes for a great hit and take cover play style. Other than that, I can agree that it isn't too useful. Storm fist on the other hand, with the aoe from the punch lets you get an entire group to low health. Pair that with a handcannon or shotgun and you have potential multikills just from a melee to one shot spree. Grenades are the last thing I want to get on. Suppression grenades and Flashbangs are by far, the most overpowered grenades in the game. Not only do they deal about 150 damage, but they also blind/suppress people in a radius larger than the hit radius. Pair this with the armamentarium and high discipline and you've got a serious issue on your hands. The ability to shut down supers before they happen is extremely reliable, especially once you've gotten the time it takes on average for your opponent to build his meter. I've checked your stats so I know you're better than I am at this game in PvP. You don't have a titan character however, so I wonder if you've never faced a good one either.

  • I've played with (and against) AEGabriel, who is pretty much known as the best Titan on Xbox. He only uses Striker though. I'll agree with you that Sunsinger loses to the bubble, but Voidwalker and Gunslinger will usually win. Bladedancer is pretty random and it can go either way. When I see bubbles, I just run away and don't even give them a chance at killing me. I've also been on the receiving end of Suppression Grenades, and they are very annoying. They can just take you out of Radiance or Arc Blade mid-super, but it's happened to me very rarely. I can acknowledge how good Titans are when played well, but I still think anybody using them would do so much better on a Hunter or Warlock. Hunters have the best supers, and Warlocks have the best grenades/melee. Titans have great movement with the controlled lift and max agility, but that's about it...

  • No take on flashbangs or FoH countering all other supers though? And I can assure you that WoD with AoL and a shotty beats hunters 95% of the time. Also, are you on One or 360?

  • Oh, I knew I missed something. Gabriel uses flashbangs and he's got me with them a few times... they do leave you super weak and blinded, but so do a lot of other grenades. Some just outright 1 shot you. FoH does indeed counter every super, but that's pretty much it. I've seen videos of FoH taking out the whole team but realistically you won't be getting more than 2 or maybe 3 per super. Bladedancer does produce even less orbs than Striker, but at least Arc Blade gets more kills on average. Maybe I need to make a Titan to form a true opinion, but I just don't see anything that makes me want to use one.

  • I've come to think of Titans as the most overpowered class. They get really good perks, really good supers, and really good exotics. The difference with flashbangs is that they do as you said, blinding you. I admit to outgunning a few people while blinded simply because I've memorized natural strafing patterns, but I don't win often when blinded. The grenades that often one shot you outright are all sticky grenades, which titans also have. Except theirs explode larger, and twice making them superior. I guess this isn't the topic to be talking about class balance, but eh, it's bumping it either way.

  • How does it balance the game if it's a one hit kill? One hit kills balance the game? And add map control? Wait a second... Doesn't Efrideet's Spear one hit kill...

  • So what point are you trying to make here? I can't tell the difference between your sarcasm and your actual opinion, because they both seem equally absurd. If you're asking what the difference is between a Spear 1 shot and a 1 shot from anything else, then I'll tell you. Heavy 1 shots are balanced because you obtain heavy ammo from controlling the map. If you lose both heavies in a team game, then it's your team's fault for losing map control, and you deserve to be spammed by rockets for the rest of the match. Super 1 shots are also balanced because everyone gets them. There's skill involved in using your super correctly, and also teamwork with the orb mechanic. If someone makes a bunch of orbs, good teams will call out their location so everyone can chain supers off each other. Spear 1 shots have far more range than shotgun/fusion 1 shots (obviously), and only require you to hit the body, which is the same as the other secondaries. What's the point in using any other secondary if you can get 1 shots just as easily with the Spear, but from across the map?

  • If only.... it gets abused on some other guns as well. Even before the Thorn buff, I could get some good use out of it due to the final round doing like 110 damage, and the small clip size that let you get to the last bullets faster.

  • Should probably reduce the amount of special ammo drops, exotic weapons and the ability to shoot bullets with guns. Just to be sure.
