I understand the good intentions, but this forum is full of people who don't understand mental illness in the slightest, so this place is a pretty bad place to discuss this.

Pretty sure this forum is very familiar with mental illness if you catch my drift

Liberator probably said it best. Some people here are not suffering from depression as a illness but maybe just hard times. Some people can't or just won't receive help and nothing can be done for them.

I'll admit I've probably never felt true deppression before. But what most people think of deppression is hard times. Deppression doesn't seem to strike people as a mental illness you know? Like I said: "Hard times". That's what people think. And there are some people on here that probably are truely deppressed and just feel like speaking there mind. Look at everyone. There's gotta be at least one guy that you could call deppressed.

And it's often the person who seems crazy and happy and not all depressed
-
Exactly. That's how I feel sometimes. You feel really down about things and no one knows because you're always hiding it. Those who hide their depression or many issues are the one's that get the depression the worst. Keeping such bad thoughts and sad emotions inside yourself just tears you apart. It gets to your mind and eventually breaks you down to the point of falling to pieces. But no one will ever know that until you speak you mind.

I've found it's easier to just hide it

I feel the same way. I have to go to school still and no one wants to hear about someone's problems they have at home. It than makes everyone else feel depressed and they're no longer any help on the situation. There's also no good way to put that into a running conversation (the being depressed part).

Yeah and it's really awkward..

Yes. Quite so.
