Posing as a veteran is NOT illegal

In America
In United States v. Alvarez the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on June 28, 2012, that the Stolen Valor Act was an unconstitutional abridgment of the freedom of speech under the First Amendment, striking down the law in a 6 to 3 decision.
I love it when Australians claim that posing as a vet will get you jail time, as if Australian laws have jurisdiction outside their island. I think it's high time they learned that there is a world with different rules outside their little SJW bubble. Disclaimer: I don't personally agree with posing as a vet, but I fully support the right of people to do so. Edit: I made this post with the assumption that the poser wasn't going for government money etc etc

 • They want to act like one, fine I guess. But I do think if a real vet figures it out they should be allowed to beat the importers ass without any backlash from the law, within reason of course (no broken bones or worse I think would be a good limit).
