Headset guide(help me build it)

Alright guys, after searching high and low for an affordable high quality headset I landed on the Turtle Beach Stealth 400 wireless headset. They are a light, good fitting wireless headset. Features as listed -15hrs of play time -4 preset equalizer modes(natural, bass boost, bass & treble boost, voice boost) -30ft wireless 2.4ghz range -Stereo sound -removable boom mic -Mesh ear cups -charge while using -mobile line in -super light -comfortable fit Pros- the headset is prolly one of the most comfortable headsets I have used, I used to have the PlayStation wireless headset(the old one that looked like a PlayStation on your head) and after about an hour of game play my ears would hurt where my glasses sat. Due to the mesh ear cups and light weight, this headset doesn't squeeze my head so I can play 4-5 hours with even feeling a thing. Another note on these ear cups, they are not "noise cancelling" so when you talk it doesn't feel like you have a head cold or feel the need to yell, also you can still hear those around you(which for a dad this is a priceless feature especially when your little one is asleep in the next room). The mobile line in allows you to use your phone while playing or when not connected to your ps3(have yet to try this but think it would be cool since the controls are separate from that on your phone, hence mic mute will mute the mic for your game but not your phone.) Now the great thing about this line in is the ability to play music in the background while playing, which is great for those big crucible marathons, play some Justin bieber....*cough cough* I mean some behemoth and come in like a wrecking ball....ermmm god damn it....lol. Cons-the boom mic gets annoying, it needs a boost because for some I end up having to eat it. Honestly my only complaint. This pair of headphone set me back around 76.99+tax(QC and federal tax is 15%) on sale, normally they are 106.99+tax CAD In the states running at a base price of 99.99+tax. Alright I know a couple other guys have some great headsets share here to give other dads looking to upgrade their earpieces to headsets, or even just getting a mic, looking at you TempleEye.

  • I have a turtle beach P11x. It is one of the lower end over-ear models, I think. I have gotten the same complaint about the mic being too soft, misfitkamel in particular used to always complain. I'm not sure if it is the mic or something on the other end, I can't understand why it would be fine for some and not others. They are comfortable enough, I suppose, but I feel the squeeze on my head after an hour or two. It is a wired headset, so not particularly kid friendly. I think I paid $60 for it on amazon a few years ago. My main problem I have is that the little digital box thingy that is supposed to mix the game and chat sound doesn't always work, meaning I have to plug the USB directly into my playstation. This way only gets me chat audio in the headset, so I end up having to turn the TV system (game sound) down so my fireteam isn't hearing an echo. I really haven't spent much time researching this problem to see if there is some simple fix or if I am doing it wrong. This the main problem I have with this headset.
