I've been sniping the bosses with my Supremacy ever since I've acquired it through the Queen's Wrath event. I snipe the crit spots because it is the most effective way of dealing large amounts of damage.
However I do switch to other weapons once I run out of ammo or shots with the IB as inflicting continuous damage is the way to whittle down health.

You're concerned with players staying back and out of the line of fire while their Ice Breaker recharges instead of facing the enemy with their other weapons. I rebutted when I said I do just this, but switch weapons when I empty a mag to keep the DPS consistent for as long as possible.
