Hoarding Engrams: EDITED
Has anyone started gathering engrams for the House of Wolves DLC? Or does anyone know if the new armor system will stay the same for the next DLC? I'm sitting on like 8 legendary and exotic engrams and plan on buying more before the DLC drops. I also have several vanguard commendations. I want to be able to hit 33 as soon as I can when HoW drops and just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as myself?
Also congrats to those who earned IB today it is a wonderful gun!
Edit 1: apparently cashing in pre DLC engrams won't give you new gear. What are people's opinion on how to level up the quickest then post DLC drop?

The engrams won't give you the new gear; however if they follow the same path you can: 1) have four or five factions ready to rank up. The new rank up packages will give the new gear. 2) have cryptarch ready to rank up. His rank up packages will give the new gear if you get a legendary. All told, with 4 characters, assuming you have 4 factions and cryptarch ready on each, you get 15 shots at the new gear

1 ReplyHere's what I'm doing: Hoarding Spinmetal and other materials Hoarding Ascendant materials Hoarding Commendations Gonna get every faction to within ~100 rep of leveling up per character Gonna have Cryptarch within ~100 rep per character Gonna have 200 marks of each type per character Once HoW releases, I'll level all factions, the Cryptarch, and do the missions. Any gear I don't get from those, I'll buy.

They will definitely be old gear as I tried it with Dark Below but if you pick up a engram with your Titan for example then hand it in with a Warlock you'll get warlock armour.....

Fastest way will be to have max marks in vanguard & crucible. That way you can buy the new gear from both faction reps asap and run bounties etc on each char and be the new soft max in one day.

2 RepliesThat didn't work when the dark below launched so its doubtful it will work for house of wolves. Any saved engrams decrypted to the old damage level.

the last time i hoarded 18 Legendary engrams before the Dark Below DLC, once i opened it, it contained all the pre DLC weapons and armors. not worth it.

3 RepliesPretty sure the engrams are already decided so when you go to decrypt them later after the next dlc they will still be lvl 31 gear and 300 base attack weapons
