Prepare yourself for the noobs sniping in ROC strikes with the icebreakers because they have it.
This isn't a nightfall. You don't have to stand on the rocks. The ones that are on the top of the area where the 3 waves of [b]vex[/b] spawn on the Archon Priest [b]strike[/b] when you're opening the door near the beginning. I understand you're JUST NOW getting an icebreaker, but please.. Just don't.
[spoiler]EDIT: Apparently this post was unclear to a few. I don't care if you have icebreaker, I don't care if you bought it, I don't care if you use it. However I do care if you sit at the back of the map sniping off goblins, getting essentially no kills leaving me to do 90% of the work. That's leeching off of me, and is not a play style. I think the icebreaker is great, and I use it for a few things.. But this isn't a nightfall. You're not going to die instantly, and you don't have to stand on that diagonal rock at the back of the 3 wave area on the Archon Priest strike about 1000 meters away, or whatever it is doing nothing for anyone.

EDIT 5: After about a day of this thread being out I remembered the name of the strike. It's called Winters Run. Hallelujah.
EDIT 6: Now that this thread has gone on for a few days and it has played out to my amusement, I will inform everyone that this does slightly bother me, but it doesn't matter to me all that much and I felt like getting a rise out of some people. I would have to disagree with you on this one. I say play the game how you want to play. Don't expect randoms to play it like you do. On a side note I've had an Icebreaker for a little over a month and I never use it on this strike. I was using a Longbow Syn. w/void for the Vex portion but got a LDR/void last week so I've been using it. Void damage snipers eat those minotaurs up. When I get to the Archon Priest I switch to P&T. Just easier to pickup ammo than it is to wait for the ammo to build back up.

Dont use matchmaking and form a group through Destinylfg.com if you want to control how people play. Its hard to tell randoms in matchmaking what to do. Hell its hard to get them to leave the starting area.

1 ReplyDon't worry friend, just maxed my Ice Breaker today. While I wasn't the "sit at back doing nothing sort", but using my Ice Breaker made things a bit slower and for that I am sorry. From now on I'll be back to using my Black Hammer and MIDA and we'll finish those Vanguard/ ROC strikes in no time at all ^^ [spoiler]Bosses beware: the stun lock is back in action[/spoiler]

I get you... Peeps need to find a better way to upgrade their ice breaker. Really I'm to the point.. if the snipers I have.. with 25-26 shots are not enough... Then I'm not where I need to be. I don't have the time to sit on mission for an extra 30 minutes so I can be safe and lazy.. where is the adrenaline in that. Proper ice breaker usage... Shoot .. run out of ammo... SWITCH GUNS.. when your charged back up, feel free to snipe some more. The idea is that you don't spend more time waiting for your ib to recharge than shots your putting on targets.

I agree with you to a point, since icebreaker was sold i dont think ive played an roc strike without someone using one but people have been using these sort of spots for ages. Its only a level 26 strike and people use all of the spots, like the backroom for phogoth, by the hive tunnel in sepiks strike etc. I dont think it has veen helped by the influx of icebreakers but it definately was there before

I usually just smile and laugh because of stuff like that. Sure it's more work on my end, but I've always seen strikes as competition. Not challenging in the slightest. Why? None of the strikes require teamwork in the slightest besides killing some enemies. So if they want to try to snipe and get some kills? Congrats. Mine was 120 for Archon, your nearest was 30. I win, you lost. Loot? That's meaningless when I have Thorn and Ghjallarhon.
