Idk, some of the shittiest connections are local ones.
I linked up with a guy in Vladivostok Russia and the connection wasn't bad. I also play with Brits and Aussies and Germans too and it doesn't seem to be location as much as I thought it would be...

I'm just guessing here, but as everyone in the crucible are linked up to bungies/activions servers (dedicated servers) and not someone in the game is hosting. It chooses the servers closest to the majority of the players. So lets say I end up in a game with the majority of players from the US, only I will suffer from high latency or anyone else outside of the US and the same would happen if it was reversed. If I'm correct in guessing we are pared to some server. And another guess is that during the beta atleast, xbox users had "international" to choose from and if that is still the case everyone is probably just lumped together all across the world Like i mention, these "problems" with latency are only in the pvp. Think I only had it one or two times during pve and thats because of the DDoS attacks to MS/PSN.

No, they happen in pve as well, and I've asked how things were on internationals end of the connection as well.
No, they happen in pve as well, and I've asked how things were on internationals end of the connection as well.
I misspoke. I'm well aware that you can experience bad/high latency in pve aswell. Its just that in my experience it happens so rarely (not more then in any other game) I wont complain about it. But in pvp atleast everyone i spoken to cant play more then 3 games before getting a match with extreamly high latency and i personally have never had experienced anything like that in any other games with a pvp element in it. Destiny is the one and only game i played with this problem. As i mentioned in other replies to other people in this post, when i get in to a match with fair latency for everyone i really really love destinys crucible/pvp! Its super fun, feels solid and fair and last time i had this amount of fun was back in halo 2/3. But because matches with high latency are so often seen in destiny it have done it so all the people i play with wont touch the crucible because of it. Wish is sad in my opinion because we all love it when it works, but like i said one encounter high latency matches way to often.
