Destiny has a tiny, awful story. This is lore and backstory. It is different.

Destiny does in fact have a good story. The PRESENTATION is where they majorly, majorly jacked it all up.

Also, no, Destiny did not have a good basic plot either.

Presentation is an essential part of story. It is not a seperate entity.

The back story ( lore ) is phenomenal; the current story (game campaign) is shoddy at best and leaves me feeling as if I was revived after all the epic shit happened... Like waking up the day after a party and cleaning up the mess without a complete memory and piecing it together as you go.

I feel this way of storytelling is not all that Bungie will give us. Grimiore is not enough for the casual gamer and I think they know it...with the upcoming dlc's we may get more =)

Destiny has a story. Its presentation, however, is something to be desired. I understand if Bungie was aiming to tell the story in an indirect manner similar to the lore in Dark Souls; however, Bungie failed to accomplish this. Players were left with no sense of purpose as to why they are fighting these various alien races other than "they serve the Darkness, and the Darkness is bad." I've looked a bit into the lore of Destiny myself, particularly regarding the Warmind and Atheon, and there is some rather interesting information on both of these constructs (which instilled in me a greater sense of purpose as my fireteam purged the Vault of Atheon). Overall, improving the storytelling in Destiny would significantly enhance the experience in my opinion.

This is not a story. These are a bunch of statements and many of these are speculation and guess work. It's sad that people have to do stuff like this just to figure out what is going on...

If I have to read to find out what is going on in a movie... The movie fails. Why is a video game any different? It should tell the story in the story missions ffs!
