Pretty sure you just had to activate the vendor like any other. If I recall, it was glitched for quite some time however - I received it randomly after an update where several other grimoire cards showed up.

Oh ok well if that's the case I probably got it like you did. One day I just got a crap ton of grimoire unlocked.
