Its a welfare system. The worse you perform or don't try hard enough, the governing body will take pity and try to give you all the best gear so you can level up to be on par with everyone else.

Joined a rumble match late where everyone was using fusions so I just gave up and danced for the last 30 seconds. I went 4/9 and was at the bottom. Got Thunderlord! Lol merry Christmas( it was on Christmas). Anyway i have seen first place get exotics too, and other places, but it does seem odd, especially because last place gets them more often.

It does seem that way...have a buddy that has jumped in the nightfall at the end and up getting the only exotic outta the group....3 times....

had a level 29 raid crota with us last night, he had never raided crota before. He got Blackhammer, shards, emblem, shader, ship, gloves, chest piece and boots. I got shards, shards, another chest piece, shards, and Song of Ir Yut....
