There is a simple fix to this. Bring back the level 29 armor and 300 attack weapons in the Tower. Make it so that anyone can buy them just as before. Use that gear to help you and your friends beat the Vault of Glass. Keep beating the Vault of Glass until you get the armor you need to reach level 30. Reach Level 30. Once you have gained a level of 30 you can now purchase the level 31 armor and 331 weapons from the Tower. You can also do the DLC Roc Strike Playlist to earn guaranteed legendary gear after each strike that is at a level of 31 light and 331 attack. Use this gear to help you and your friends beat Crota's End. Do this until you gain the gear needed to reach 32. Once you've reached 32 we do it all over again with the new DLC. This is how the level cap should work. Old gear should become useless once you reach higher levels of difficulty and gear. Fatebringer is a good hand cannon, but it won't do squat for you in the House of Wolves and I like it that way. That means new gear to try out, stuff that can outdo that Fatebringer. I will still keep Praedyth's Revenge and Found Verdict as they are the best Sniper and Shotgun in Crucible. This makes it so that the older raids are no longer useless. So that people still have need to complete them in order to reach those higher levels. So that they cannot skip levels and raids by simply purchasing some gear at the Tower.

  • For those who disagree slightly, I reviewed my idea and have a slight change to it. Let me know what you think. Keep the level 29 armor and 300 attack weapons in Tower. Guardians must complete the Vault of Glass until they gain their armor needed to reach level 30. Make the armor and weapon drops in the VoG set drops instead of random. Each week change the drop to a different piece of armor and different weapon. Keep the chests as random loot. When a player reaches level 30 light, they can now purchase level 31 armor and 331 attack weapons at the Tower. They can also play the new Roc strike playlist, which should be set to lvl 30, that will reward with a level 31 legendary piece of armor or 331 attack weapon after completing each strike. They work to level up their gear and take on Crota's End. There they will work to gain gear and find chests with the loot system set up just like I mentioned for the VoG. Any raid gear dismantled will yield radiant materials. They work to get to level 32 and they can now buy level 33 gear at the Tower once the House of Wolves is released. The thing that frustrates gamers most about that is the fact that anyone can make a new character and get to level 31 right now by just buying some gear in the Tower. That they don't have to complete the VoG at all and don't have to do any of the grind we all had to do to get to 30. They just skip right up there. A few variables with how I think it could work. Legendary Engrams would still drop the old versions of Legendary gear, although they could have a different class of Legendary like Legendary Mark 1 Engrams. Or just a new name altogether for the new stuff and a new color, red engrams mabye? The Exotics would drop as the former versions and need an upgrade through Xur. It would make more sense to upgrade the weapon or armor fully before you can acquire an upgraded version through Xur. The upgrade causing you to only have to unlock and upgrade the final three damage upgrades on the weapon or armor upgrades on the armor. That would be more reasonable and feel like your previous work didn't go to waste. So you aren't upgrading a weapon twice for no reason or dismantling a fully upgraded old version for an unupgraded new version.

  • Earn guaranteed legendary gear in strikes lol, never going to happen. Selling sub level 30 gear is ridiculous. So hit 29 run VoG a million times and get shards...... Right. Your system doesn't improve anything. It's actually going backwards.

  • Getting Ascend materials is actually very easy in the game now. Getting Radiant materials isn't so much. Not unless you have multiple characters and rank 4 reputation with Eris. I think they will do something similar for upgrades with the House of Wolves DLC.

  • That's the first intelligent thing I've read about the light level and how it should be procured, I slightly understood peoples beefs with new players being able to reach level 32 within weeks, but all the complainers dressed it up in such a whinny way it annoyed me.
