You've clearly never played this type of game the point is weapons become irrelevant after new content is released I would be very unhappy is bungie gave in and buffed VOG weapons

No. 'Most' do not. This is the first game I've ever heard having an upgrade option for old loot.

Finall Fantasy 14 had 3 weapon upgrades for your original weapon, also vendor weapons can be upgraded at least once. Now back to Destiny, If they dont want to upgrade them. Why isnt the vex mythoclast upgraded like the other exotics They gave the option for weapon upgrades. There is no harm in adding quests to upgrade raid weapons.

I didn't need to do homework. I said most don't. And I said I hadn't heard of a game that allowed you to upgrade weapons and armor after a level cap increase. I never played FF14. I didn't have the money when it came out(either time it was released).

Regardless of other games and how they work. Thats the point of this thread. If you want my openion about this subject I really dont care much for the raid weapons. I do like using a Fatebringer all the time and for sure will replace it with the hard mode Hand cannon when bungie decides to release crotas end hard mode and drops the weapon for me. In the mean time we can dream of an upgrade for old vog weapons which isnt going to happen anyway from the way things are going

It would be nice, sure. The issue with having an upgrade system in place for the old raid weapons and armor would defeat the purpose of earning new armor and weapons to challenge the new raid, or of even doing the new raid if you already were able to get the new max level using your old armor. I can definitely see an upgrade coming to the VoG itself that would increase the armor and weapons received from it to the higher level cap. Just after Crota's end has been out for a while. This keeps old content relevant and doesn't defeat the purpose of doing the new raid.

Second quest will take you 30 hours Third quest could take weeks. All this to upgrade. It is frustrating and yet it is a nice addition to be able to continue using your old weapons if you like them. This was not the case when ff14 was first released. They added the option after the release of the second raid for their game

That's pretty sweet. I would love something like this. Problem with a system that could take weeks is most of Destiny's player base are 'casuals' and Bungie has designed the game to be a challenge to that type of player. None of the content is particularly challenging unless you're not paying attention. The forums are already rife with complaints about how hard it is to have to relevel an exotic after upgrading it. Bungie is trying to walk the line between challenging content and making sure less-than-hardcore players feel like they have access to all of the game. Know what I mean?

Destiny and EVE Online are the only two I can think of on top of what your you mentioned. Out of all of the MMO's out there I'd dare say that three doesn't constitute as "most".

I agree. New content is supossed to introduce new gear. BUT, in MMOs usually it has to pass even one year to have a content that will really introduce new and more powerful gear, something that really feels new and gives you a good reason to farm and run instances again & again. It's been only 4 months and VoG is now outdated, that's bullcrap. I do not like (and don't care) how VoG becomes useless, and if this is the tendency, CE will be useless too. We should be able to keep improving raids' gear. I think there should be something else than just raids to get better gear and improve it. Something I really disliked is that we do not have the freedom to chose a kind of gear and "follow that path" ... That's why I don't care if I get raid "super weapons".
