It is an easy fight, yes, but also a complete waste of time (taking more time than your proposed 3 mins) so I have no problem that people skip it. Game design 101: if players find something unfun/unrewarding in a GAME, they will of course just pass it up.

It only takes 3 because after the song starts you have 3 minutes until you are all dead :)

If they do anything, they will add a loot drop to the singer event so that people stop skipping it ... or are you talking about an actual cheese that allows you to bug out the singer event? Most people just skip it all together by finding a player with the Crota cp. That ability will never change (just as people can skip the Templar and gatekeeper in VoG just to do Atheon). All Bungie will do is incentivize the singer by adding a drop (which should have been there since day 1).
