Screw your "timeline" that is irrelevant. Almost all of my friends have 32 and maxed raid weapons already. I myself have 2 32 characters and 3 maxed guns. The logic you're using is so stupid. Who cares how fast someone reaches 32 before hard mode... the deathsinger having no loot drops makes no sense and makes crota end feel way smaller and way more watered down than VoG. Why the hell would having a boss fight that doesn't drop ANYTHING be a good idea? I don't even have to argue this with you, the fact that the majority of people skip this part of the raid alone proves my point. I'm sure bungie wanted us to skip an entire boss fight right? Deathsinger should drop 2 shards/energies.
Over saturation caused by 2 extra shards dropping is NOT what you should be worried about in regards to the amount of 32s out there, it's the cheesing and exploits. There are 29s and lower out there cheesing the first two drops in the raid.

MAN you went into attack mode fast. Just trying to present why I think the way they did it works, even if Deathsinger not having drops is a headscratcher. Point is, whether Deathsinger drops loot or not, by the time hard rolls around, those that have spent hours in the raid will be ready and those that haven't won't. Do I think Deathsinger makes sense? No, but the overall amount of loot makes perfect sense. The logic makes sense it just doesn't fit your priorities. You're not why Bungie made the game, the millions playing are. You, despite your resume of maxed toons, congrats by the way, are a minority. Many are just now getting to raid, and it makes more sense to keep hard mode elite and keep casuals struggling to get loot than to make the, idk, 5% of destiny players who have finished Crota, happy.

What it will do however is improve the overall raid experience of crotas end by stopping groups from skipping the fight altogether. This does not fit my priority I just enjoy this game and the content that raids have to offer, and it makes me sad to see an entire boss fight skipped by almost every single raid group out there. 2 shards will not over saturate anything and it is enough to make the deathsinger fight significant again. Once again there is absolutely nothing elite about being 32 or having raid weapons at this time despite what you think. The only thing elite from raid will be the primaries assuming the cheesing is fixed by the time the hard mode is released. The elite status of raid gear and weapons were quickly diminished once all the cheesing began. Now pretty much everyone and anyone can get 32 or raid weapons with little effort. That is what over saturates the amount of 32s, not adding two shards to a boss that at this point is deemed pointless by the majority of all raid groups.
