Destiny gear does not exactly fit the mold of a classic RPG system though. It's not just stats, weapons and armor add flavor to the character more like a talent system. That's why people want these weapons to still be relevant, because it adds to character customization and variety, not simply power through raw numbers alone. This is the problem with trying to force a system used in other games blindly without consideration of how your game mechanics differ from those games.
