Given their current upgrade system, I have suggested adding a Radiant upgrade tier to the VoG gear. But reworking the entire upgrade system as someone else suggested would be much better. A different/similar use for the Motes of Light and Ascendant Shards/Energy would be to upgrade gear, any gear. Spend Motes and/or Shards at a Vendor to upgrade ANY piece of armor to a higher Light Level, possibly have something drop in the raids in order to upgrade to max level. Spend Motes and/or Energy to upgrade weapons at the Gunsmith, and again possibly use a Raid-only drop material to hit max attack with a weapon.
