Okay, it seems you are serious then. There's some grinding in Destiny no matter what. If you want to improve your character there is grinding involved. For marks, on strikes, through bounties/dailies, whatever. Slowly but surely your character gets better gear. For the raids (normal) you really just need to get to level 30 which is done with Vanguard gear. Run the bounties to rank up the faction (you'll get 1-2 ranks per week if you do all of the bounties) and buy a full set of Vanguard gear. Full set takes almost 4 weeks just for the marks so you'll hit the faction rank and marks requirement at about the same time. Now the bad news if you don't like grinding: the raids are another grind. You run the raid and maybe you get the weapon/armor puece you want but maybe you don't. So each week you run the raid and it's the same raid every time. And then when you do get the gear you wanted it just makes the raids/Nightfall/Weekly/daily/bounties easier, but they're all the same content over and over. If you don't want to grind I would suggest that Destiny is not the right game for you. And that's fine, it's not for everyone. I wouldn't waste anymore time on it though if it's not fun, just find something you do enjoy playing.
