Why do we keep playing this game
- That couple of seconds right before delivering the final blow to the raid boss, holding your breath to see the rewards
- Finally getting that long sought after exotic
- Getting a new raid gear piece
- Getting the last raid gear piece
- Making the last upgrade to get to the last available level
- Headshotting a cursed thrall on a group of cursed thralls and triggering a chain explosion
- Reviving your team as the last guardian standing while dodging a barrage of fire during the final boss fight of a nightfall
- Multi-killing guys from the enemy team with a super
- Shotgun+melee combo to the face
- Destroying noobs
- Helping out noobs
- Hanging out with your buddies
- Going through a nightfall with a total stranger
- Bitching about the game with the other guys that get it

I dunno i came back recently but now im done again. Just too boring nothing to do but the same boring bounties everyday.

2 RepliesBravo.. I'd only add a few: -The flash of yellow sliding down the left side of your screen coupled with the 'rewards' sound effect indicating you have just gotten an exotic - one of the best feelings in games ever - Because of what it can be in the future

For those of us without enough friends to raid with, we play for the cheese. But seriously, I play this game because I like to break things, and this is the most broken game I have ever played.

1 ReplyThe answer to this question, which surely we have all kept asking ourselves is simple. The game mechanics are perfect it feels like magic. The controller and the mind are one with each other. That combined with a screen that's always visually stunning with music that pulling you into the game. That cocktail has kept us playing for hundreds of hours longer than it deserves when taking into account its short comings. I don't think I need to mentions how many of those there are.

Addiction to Loot. This is also why I play Diablo, Borderlands, and just about any RNG looting game. All my friends say I need to go to Looters Anonymous, but I keep telling them they just don't understand my relationship with RNGesus...

Very good question.. It's a good game despite the lack of content, but for some reason I find myself needing that daily fix, unlike other games. Plus, I enjoy the company of my friends as well. Anyway, good question with good examples.
