Are you saying that the gun you get in raid 1 should be useful in raid 2 and that's it? Or are you saying that the gun in raid 1 should be upgraded automatically when raid 3 and beyond comes out. If you are saying scenario 1, I would agree. If you are saying scenario 2, I would have to say no for the simple fact that if that were the system to be in place, all you would have to do is run VoG and be set for the life of the game. I believe the weapons should have been designed as follows: Prior to launch of TDB, all legendary/exotic weapons outside of the raid should have been max damage 300. Any these weapons obtained in the raid should have been max damage 331. This means that the weapons obtained in the first raid, would have been effective in the second raid. When TDB released, max weapon damage should have been 323 for legendaries/exotics not obtained via raid. This means that the system is still rewarding people for completing the first raid and those weapons still have value. Weapons obtained in the raid should then be bumped up to 362 (using +31 damage increase since that's what Bungie did with this increase). These weapons will then be useful going into raid 3. With this system, it'll take two expansions before a raid weapon is considered useless. You are rewarding players from completing the highest difficult mission at the time, you create a reason for players to play older raid content other than shards, and most importantly, players will feel like they are not getting screwed over for their grind the day a new patch is released.
