EXCLUSIVES TO SONY, BUT HERES THE REAL QUESTION.

WHY? GOOD QUESTION. Obviously a contract was made between Sony and Bungie to guarantee exclusives for playstation, BUT. The question is, WHY. Clearly, Sony paid some cash for that, in hopes it would sway a many a folk to buy a playstation, to have the "superior" destiny console. What I don't understand is that, WHY, did Microsoft not make this deal. Now let's get something straight, Microsoft is SO F*CKING RICH, the second wealthiest company in the world (behind apple), Bill Gates who helped to found it, is so f*cking rich, he alone could buy out sony, bend it over a barrel and ride that f*cker into the ground, and he would still be one of the richest men in the world, no sweat. SO, Just imagine how much cash the entire company has. It seems Microsoft could have easily made that contract right? But there's more to it, now I'm not sure about what happened exactly. No one knows if Microsoft just didn't see the opportunity as feasible or outright decided, F*ck you Bungie, for even considering another console as your exclusive outlet. And the latter makes more sense to me, because listen up. Obviously Halo was an outstanding franchise that "defined a generation" and popularized first person shooters, made them mainstream. But did you ever think to realize who made Bungie!!!?, F*cking MICROSOFT MADE BUNGIE WHO THEY ARE TODAY, without Microsoft taking a leap, signing Bungie in to the squad and taking them under their wing, guiding them to greatness, you likely wouldn't know what the f*ck I was talking about when I said Bungie, you'd probably think I was some weird assmotherf*cker talking about trampolines or some sh*t. Bungie owes EVERYTHING to Microsoft. So it begs the question, WHY, WHY did Bungie choose Sony over Microsoft, over the company that nurtured and cared for their frightened newborn baby of a company in Bungie? I DONT KNOW. But it pisses me the f*ck off and poses as a monumental curiosity in my eyes! Thank you for your time. #nintendo?¿(•.•)¿?

  • I haven't done any research into the topic but I did hear from some random that was talking to me where I work. Apparently, there was a hostile takeover of Halo by Microsoft and Bungie was booted. He explained because of the hostile takeover Bungie opted to give Sony all the exclusives over Microsoft as a big flying blam you.

  • Bungie wanted to take halo to other consoles, Ms said no way. The breakup was terrible and neither company felt like patching things up for destiny. Plus MS already pays Activision for COD exclusives so they didn't want to pay more for the new IP

  • Microsoft loses money every year with the XboX division, why sink even more money into it. And even though Microsoft helped Bungie, Bungie did not get a fair deal. Sooner or later Bungie would have been discovered for their great games. The contract between Microsoft and Bungie was awful for Bungie, from what I remember seeing. I think, Bungie didn't want Microsoft having the exclusives &/or, Microsoft did not want to sink more money into a division that is only kept alive by other divisions Just my opinion

    • I have a PS4 that hasn't been turned on in over a month. I'd rather be on Xbox ... But PS4 exclusives aren't making their appearance on Xbox until September. Still, I have a PS4 that I could easily go out and buy the game on. Yet I won't... Majority of my friends are on Xbox.

    • Apple is number 16 on the most wealthy companies of 2014 and Microsoft isn't even in the top 50.

      •
F*cking MICROSOFT MADE BUNGIE WHO THEY ARE TODAY
And Micro$oft also pissed Bungie the hell off too. ODST paired with Firefight was originally going to be a $20 DLC. Microsoft stepped in, wanting more out of it, and put the price up to $60 and added maps. Maps that I'm quite sure, if you're a Halo Fan, you definitely already owned. I'm sure Bungie is still quite salty towards Microsoft, I don't blame them for wanting to keep distance. While that being said, exclusivity for DLC is rather a load of shite on any occasion. Games are one thing, I can understand that Sony and Microsoft Studios want to publish their own titles for their own consoles, fair enough. But making out deals for add-on content to either be exclusive or put-out much before the competing consoles? Crock'o shite, I say.

      • Bungie wanted to branch off from Halo but MS didn't want that. Caused some bad blood. Sony came in and made an offer. Here we are today.

      • Wasn't this game originally a ps4 exclusive? But when activision got involved they wanted it got the one too. I know it was not going to be on ps3 an Xbox 360. But to make more cash they brought it out on all systems. Maybe that has something yo do with it. But probably not

Isn't it a timed exclusive? We're getting the stuff in destiny 2. Also the guns they provide aren't overwhelmingly good. There not game breakers or anything and 1 or 2 strikes missed.. You'll live.

          • It's an exclusivity thing with activision which represents age content in my opinion. Wii u everyone which Skylanders have better sales on, Playystation teen which Destiny is made to appeal better and Xbox a more Mature aspect in which Call of Duty is better to play on. Now if your looking at it from Bungie and Microsofts aspect then Microsoft probably doesn't really care and is happy for bungie and reason for Bungie going for Sony is because Halo the entire series is on Xbox and not Playstation besides the exclusive strikes kinda suck anyway.
