EXCLUSIVES TO SONY, BUT HERES THE REAL QUESTION.

WHY? GOOD QUESTION. Obviously a contract was made between Sony and Bungie to guarantee exclusives for playstation, BUT. The question is, WHY. Clearly, Sony paid some cash for that, in hopes it would sway a many a folk to buy a playstation, to have the "superior" destiny console. What I don't understand is that, WHY, did Microsoft not make this deal. Now let's get something straight, Microsoft is SO F*CKING RICH, the second wealthiest company in the world (behind apple), Bill Gates who helped to found it, is so f*cking rich, he alone could buy out sony, bend it over a barrel and ride that f*cker into the ground, and he would still be one of the richest men in the world, no sweat. SO, Just imagine how much cash the entire company has. It seems Microsoft could have easily made that contract right? But there's more to it, now I'm not sure about what happened exactly. No one knows if Microsoft just didn't see the opportunity as feasible or outright decided, F*ck you Bungie, for even considering another console as your exclusive outlet. And the latter makes more sense to me, because listen up. Obviously Halo was an outstanding franchise that "defined a generation" and popularized first person shooters, made them mainstream. But did you ever think to realize who made Bungie!!!?, F*cking MICROSOFT MADE BUNGIE WHO THEY ARE TODAY, without Microsoft taking a leap, signing Bungie in to the squad and taking them under their wing, guiding them to greatness, you likely wouldn't know what the f*ck I was talking about when I said Bungie, you'd probably think I was some weird assmotherf*cker talking about trampolines or some sh*t. Bungie owes EVERYTHING to Microsoft. So it begs the question, WHY, WHY did Bungie choose Sony over Microsoft, over the company that nurtured and cared for their frightened newborn baby of a company in Bungie? I DONT KNOW. But it pisses me the f*ck off and poses as a monumental curiosity in my eyes! Thank you for your time. #nintendo?¿(•.•)¿?

  • Maybe bc they already paid activision for shitty DLC for cod. Maybe they realized the issues this game would have and felt not needed. Or Sony paid first to be exclusive to a broken game we can't stop playing lol.

  • The hell are you on about? First of all Activision made the deal with Sony not Bungie. Next you need to check your history, Bungie was making games way before they got together with Microsoft. Halo was originally intended to be a PC/Mac game, considering the difference in size between the original XBOX and PC community you could make the argument that Bungie would have gotten wider recognition earlier if they hadn't joined Microsoft (though the fact that it was a console FPS is what made it so great). Also I'd argue that the Xbox owes a great deal of it's success to Bungie and Halo. This was a brand new console breaking into a market that was ruled by Nintendo, Sega and Sony who were all well established brands. Microsoft needed a selling point and they identified Halo as a new and exciting idea that could be their very own exclusive powerhouse. Bungie created the game that made Xbox relevant, and Microsoft is still riding on their coattails to this day, you got to keep Halo they don't owe Microsoft shit.

    • http://www.polygon.com/2015/1/5/7496913/ps4-sales-reach-18-million-worldwide because ps4 has sold more than Xbox one and it will continue to dominate the console market. Microsoft -blam!-ed up the xbox launch,, Link will tell you everything else. Activision has Bungie by the balls and will bend Bungie over and bump that buttocks till they milked this franchise to kingdom come. While their at it why don't they let Sony bump that meat too? Sony will pay Activision to get that bum.I've been a proud owner of a ps since the first ps came out.

    • It was originally designed for ps4 only, Microsoft payed bungie and bungie made it for 360 and xbone they then thought " well we're doing all the consoles why not PS3" and that's how it happened

    • Because they took one look at what the game was and what they were releasing to the public and said "wow what a -blam!-ing rip off, if people but this they are gonna be pissed!! Go ahead Sony waste your money"

    • Think it's most likely due to the fact that bungie had been a MS exclusive company for so long, they needed to show some love to sony fans who may have never played a bungie game before, what better way than releasing a few bits of unimportant exclusives their way? Also imagine how much more butthurt sony fans would be than xbox fans have been if it was the other way around, the old xbox company still favouring xbox would not have gone down well

Hate to break it to you but bill gates can't buy sony at all to but a company u must have a majority share this means that you must buy shares now if he can't find over 50% to buy he can't legally be the sole owner and if people don't want to sell to him they don't have remember money won't buy everything the stock market is there to trade them but in reality only if there is some to trade and well I think the majority of those who own sony shares don't want him to own the company so he can't buy shit boy

    • Why? Greed. That's why. It made more sense for them from a business perspective not to pony up for exclusive content. So they didn't.

    • "Microsoft has had Call of Duty series on exclusive content lockdown for a while, but it appears the Activision wants to play both sides of the fence, and has worked out a deal with Sony so that Destiny is practically being sold as a PlayStation exclusive (which it most certainly isn’t). In addition to an Alpha that didn’t even exist on Xbox One, PlayStation Destiny players get early beta access and have been promised “exclusive content” for the game." From an article from Forbes, it was activision not bungie, please stop saying bullshit about bungie Kthx

      • Xbox is garbage and the only reason it's still around is because of MS money. If xbox were owned by any other company they would have been shut down long ago. Name a console that has come in last place three times in a row that's still around. The Xbox division is like a thirty year old that still asks his parents for pizza money and video games. MS would rather invest two and a half billion into minecraft then into first party studios for the Xbox division. That alone should tell you what ms thinks of its xbox division. • I heard from a friend that Bungie chose Sony over Microsoft because of the Halo incident. What happened was that Bungie was planning for Halo 4 and Microsoft asked them for a large amount of money (Knowing Microsoft, this was a VERY large amount of money) to produce this game or else they drop the franchise or Bungie would have to give the franchise to another company, so Bungie said screw that, gave it to 343, and went on to Destiny. But like you said about Microsoft taking Bungie under their wing from before and getting them started and all, I think that's where Bungie decided to let Microsoft in on Destiny.

                • Wasn't it because MS -blam!-ed Bungie over at the end of the Halo series? (Not an Xbox person so I could be off on that ) and I thi k Activision had a hand in it also.

                  • Haven't we been over this? They got exclusives that really aren't that big a deal... Some strikes and one decent weapon were not missing out on anything its business. We can play the game just like they can. Props to Sony backing their users.

                  • Do a little reading before making a long ass post, bungie offered it to Microsoft as an exclusive to b Microsoft only, for a fee of course, but Microsoft declined, So Sony snapped that deal up, then Microsoft had to pay just to get it for their console too,

                    • Actually, the fans made Bungie who they are today. Microsoft was just a middle man. If the fans decided to never buy a Halo game, Bungie would have tanked with or without Microsoft. Now, they're stuck with a new publisher, Activision, that judges where money comes from and how contracts are done. So kindly shut up and stop spewing your stupid everywhere. It's disgusting.
