Destiny rewards players for doing nothing

ok this has happened to me multiple times, to the point where i can't take it anymore. So basically whenever i do either a strike playlist (usually vanguard roc) or play any type of mode in Crucible, i always end up with the most kills and assists either 1st or second place but i always get the worst rewards, then the people at the bottom of that list (some who just go afk at the final boss or do nothing in crucible) seem to get the best rewards be it legendary engrams, strange coins, shaders or more recently exotic weapons. I would like to know why bungie seems to not be encouraging players to play the game well and strive to be the best to get better rewards then everybody else, but instead allows other players to frustrate the players actually doing something by giving the less team helping players the better rewards. Please leave a comment if you agree. thanks.

  • i agree with the concept of the crucible's rewards system being broken. it is extremely clear cut. there's deaths, kills and assists--oh, and wins and losses. honestly i just don't play the crucible because i never played halo and call of duty like everyone who is good at crucible did. as far as rewards in pve, it really would be tough to create a tier system. kills, deaths and assists wouldn't be comprehensive enough. My playstyle is different than most. In strikes and raids, I enter the room and immediately focus fire on whoever presents the most threat and takes the most damage in the room. I will get one kill while the others get four because they're killing dregs, vandals and thralls while I killed the yellow captain or wizard. so kills wouldn't be accurate. deaths needs to be included somehow in a reward system. what would be better than kills or assists would be damage done. if there was a way to just formulate an algorithm for damage done in relation to deaths somehow, that would be perfect.
