Didn't steal it if that's what you are wondering. It just seems easy to put together with resources already in-game, and similar to boss mechanics I've seen in mmos. Strikes me as a strong possibility for implementation.

Tbh I think the crota fight was a way to trivialize weapon damage though... That's the main reason I think tdb won't go that way, at least for the final boss.
