A Tale of the Woes of RNG, Hope, and Destiny

Chapter 1: Hope and Despair Once upon a time, there was a young lad named Renegade Sorrow. Ever since his favourite game Destiny had come out, there had been one thing he had yearned and lusted for. To press his hands to his chest, and feel the warmth of his heart of praxic fire. Several months later, he had all but given up hope on achieving his one true goal. His black market friend, Xur the Unfed, never seemed to be able to procure the one true treasure he sought. His tri-weekly tirade into the lands of Nightenfall had given him many treasures, but never the one that mattered. Chapter 2: Glory in the Eye of the Solar Grenade Phogoth crumpled to the floor, afirinhislazor into the sky for one final time. As his body was consumed by the fires of Renegades sunsinging, Renegade noticed a glint on the floor. A familiar, but never encountered weave of crimson, white, black, and gold. Not only had he gained a robe, but he had gained it after the recent discovery of how to extract more light from objects. He spent hours - nay, days, training himself and infusing his robe with the power of various metals, plants, and abnormally glowing gases. And finally, a shard of the most exotic kind. And so when Renegade gave his grenades to the Traveller, there were not 5, but there were 10. And so he slew. Chapter 3: Rekt by Chance But a week later, Renegade was cosplaying as a wizard. He thought it ironic that he had killed a hive lord to gain his prize, and here he was again, wearing his blazing heart proudly, but this time with the look of a hive wizard about him. Renegade ventured once again into the land of Nightenfall, as was his tri-weekly tradition. He was the Balrog himself as he threw fire upon the goblin hordes of the vex. Slaughtering heedlessly, like flames licking at a cool kid who just passed his exam's school work. He threw much fire that day, most of all when confronted by the mind Sekrion. The robotic 4-sided die fired blast upon blast of the void at him, but days of the void were long in Renegade's past, for he praised the sun. And Sekrion fell. And as Renegade turned away, victorious, he caught a glint in the light of his fading solar grenades. A glimmer of fortune. A curse. Before him lay another heart. His first thought was to unweave it, and learn the powers behind it's making. But no. He thought it prudent to keep it, and to wear it. He had this strange sense that it would make him more disciplined. And he suddenly got the feeling he was about to repeat himself for naught but a slightly smaller pause between the fury of his fires. And this was his Destiny.
