Why does No Land Beyond suck?
This popular new sniper exotic rifle, seems to have a lot of people frustrated with this gun and for good reason too.
I recently was awarded this sniper rifle after killing Crota with my buddies on the new raid. Least to say I was very excited when I realized I looted an exotic sniper that can be used in.. what?! Your primary slot? Yes this amazing WWII themed bolt action rifle can be used in my primary slot! Cool weapon right? Except for that it's stats are broken. Mistreated, worthless, annoying. Some harsh words but very emphasized to describe the actual performance of this gun... Bungie... why? Didn't you just, fix, all of the old exotics? Didn't you learn your lesson not to make broken guns? This gun has a bolt action feature which is, actually really fun and cool, except it fires to the extent of the speed of a tank cannon (slow) and does nowhere near the damage of an average legendary, no RARE sniper rifle. I TESTED THIS FOLKS. This exotic beauty does less damage when it says it does more. Hey bungie? Can you stop making really cool guns worthless? That'd.. be awesome. Anyone else use this gun? It's very fun to use! But also very disappointing when it comes to delivery time. Reminds me of an old company that used to make a sweet FPS that everyone loved.. hmm.. THOUGHTS? Why does this gun suck? It needs a patch.

Actually I'd be nice if you could equip it in both slots instead of just primary, the gun says it CAN be equipped in the primary slot, insinuating that it CAN be equipped in the secondary, except it can't.

Mulligan needs to be replaced with something actually useful, and the impact should be massively increased. I'm talking 199 damage in pvp, if you're hurt at all it should 1 shot you.

1 ReplyI like the look of the gun. It actually looks exotic for the game setting. But it needs way more impact damage to offset the bolt reload after every shot. This weapon should have more impact damage than a hand canon and similar ammo reserve(50 bullets) or an ammo regen perk. It could use some sort of elemental damage or a perk that allows the weapon to bypass shields and do direct hp damage. Have you tried to kill a shielded lvl 30 yellow enemy with this thing? You run out of ammo by the time you kill 2.

1 ReplyIsn't the idea for NLB to be a novelty?? I bought it merely for cheesing bosses. It's range is good, and it's nifty in my opinion because it harkens back to olde timey rifles. That look all odd in a Warlock's hands. And if you don't like it, use something else.

2 RepliesI think it's a great gun, I really enjoy using it but it is a bit slow for my liking. The other problem I have is that it can hold up to 26 rounds but for some reason if you get below 12 rounds it will only replenish your ammo up to 12 rounds, 6 in the magazine and 6 on spare. That's not the 26 I know it can hold. My only other problem is like others were saying, its starting damage is 302, implying it will be a strong primary, but it will only do "decent" damage if landing a headshot. If you happen to hit a body shot then it does low damage. This gun really has great potential though!

A month from now this gun will be buffed and everyone will be crying that they are getting destroyed in crucible and wanting it needed and we will also have those people that chose not to buy it then complaining to bungie that xur needs to sell it again and how it's not fair to change a guns power without telling us this would happen when gun first came out. Just look at their track record

I'm only using it to level up my sniper grimoire. I find it totally horrid to use. I started a new hunter and only have rare snipers, but i find them much better to use that this.

I see people doing decent stuff with it in crucible. But beyond that i wouldn't mind if it got a buff. Guns slow as all hell. More than a few exotics need one.

3 RepliesIt doesn't suck, it just has a high skill curve and different play style, it's more of a support role than a assault role that every assumes because it's a primary, just try it out while u stay back and take pop shoots at people

I know it's a small thing but it's aggravating. Also placing a secondary in the spot of a primary really screws up the system . Armor that boosted ammo storage for auto, hand cannon scout, pulse .Chest armor Is useless you'll get one gun bonus . Boots bonus primary's now useless only raid gear will be synergetic .

No land beyond will hit around 2k 3k damage for a crit where as my unleveled legendary will hit around 4k 5k crit damage. Some of you may love this gun and really I like it too. BUT THAT -BLAM- IS BROKEN. BOLT ACTIONS SHOULD DO MORE DAMAGE.

1 ReplyOkay yes, then friggin lense glare, REALLY? Has bungie ever... held a gun? And what the heck is with the cock after you fire that last bullet..? WHAT ARE YOU COCKING?? There is no bullet! And Gunnr you are sooo very right about the sights. It zooms in waaaaay too much, it's just iron sight not binoculars. And as for precision damage, most snipers have 500% bonus, so a 200% buff wouldn't even be good, but I agree it needs a precision buff, hard. And that terrible RoF? I like the bolt action itself and I get where you're coming from Bungie but.. I can't use a gun that fires slow and stat wise is underworked as well..

I like it, but i got rid of it. Maybe there will be a buff later in the future but honestly, I don't see myself using it as much as my hawkmoon. & i don't use my hawkmoon often. Mainly due to having a gjallahorn. Lol yay.

2 RepliesIt simply needs to fire faster. I feel like my guardian is a clumsy oaf who can't manipulate his weapons. If I can reload the gun in 2 seconds why can't I fire 1 shot every 2 seconds instead of 1 every 4? This gin would be amazing for Iron Banner. Too bad Suros and Mythoclast exclusively rule it.
