No lol cans are cylindrical, not giving the illusion of round. Round is a metaphor not a literal representation in this instance

A 1-eyed pirate would have the impression of the can being round when looking straight down onto the can. However..they aren't that common anymore so I'll agree with you on my incorrectness.
