For over three months I've heard people complaining about Destiny's shortcomings and failures. One of which is the blatant lack of story. Many people hoped that the story would be hashed out for TDB. But it wasn't and now I see more complaining.
Here's the thing, what you thought Destiny was going to be isn't what Destiny is. Yes I felt compelled to bold that because it is a huge statement. Destiny may have enticed you with the promise of an amazing story, but that isn't what the game is. Destiny has barely any story. The game is more focused on endgame content. That is what is keeping people playing. Most games with a story keep you engaged for a few playthroughs, but eventually you will move on. Destiny has kept people addicted to it, even though it has so many glaring flaws like lack of a story.
I think it's time that we face facts. Destiny is never going to be about an amazing story. People were disappointed by Eris' three story missions, but I expect that we will only be seeing similar things from the next DLC.
I believe it is time that each guardian either accept that fact, or move on, as hard as that might be. Coming on to the forums to complain about it is a waste for the guardians who have to shift through it to find a worthwhile post, and to you who has to constantly feel let down.
Perhaps this will change in the future, there is still one more guaranteed DLC pack, and there is supposed to be a "comet" as well lined up for Destiny. I just wouldn't get my hopes up.
