I own a 65" LG Plazma, there is a setting in the Menzies called Game user, which handles the HUD burn pretty well. Not sure if other brands have that option. Slider is a good call though.

My set has a game mode which is always on when I game, though I'm not sure is it so much protects from burn-in or keeps input lag as low as possible. Thank you for your post. Please continue to bring this to Bungies front burner.

I think my play time is around 7 days....I don't have any significant burn in, so I assume it helps...it's not a sole gaming tv though, movies and TV etc...which may help.
