Congrats, I've beaten it twice so far this week as well. Out of curiosity, what sword combo is working for you?

  • R1 r1 r2, r1 r1 r2. we've beaten him five times now, and I've run the sword everytime. That is the combo that I go for. If I get there a bit late, I'll do r1 r1 r2, r1 r2. You need to get atleast 2 R2's in and as many r1's in between. Don't just swing at random though, you need to be methodical about the timing of your swings.

  • Yea everyone seems to prefer a different combo. Our sword bearer last night used r1 only. I read somewhere that if you hold forward while using r1 you can get more hits in, but im not sure if he was doing this. Whatever he did, we only had to take down crotas shield twice with a single sword once, then every run after that we took his shield down once per sword. So, has anyone tested holding forward while using r1 only?

  • Is R1 the trigger on playstation? I'm currently playing on xbone but I've been using the trigger attack x 4 every time, with the first attack as he's about to knee down. And holding forward is the way to go. I've tried it without holding forward and it usually resulted in hang fire between pulls, meaning that I didnt have time to complete 4 strikes.

  • R1 would be the bumper, the standard melee. I will have to try holding forward then. Also, does anyone know if the "increased melee attack speed" perk on armor affects the sword?
