Parents don't believe shit. Mine are the same way. In 1st grade one day I woke up feeling so weak and super sick. I didn't even want to move out of my bed, that's how bad it was. I literally begged my mom to not take me to school but she didn't believe that I was sick. About an hour in school session I asked to go to the bathroom to throw up. I didn't make it to the bathroom. I threw up outside my classroom. Then I went to the office to have my mom pick me up.
