Coincidence? You need to be extremely lucky to get that gun, or it avoids me. Basically your chances of getting this gun is like winning the lottery.

Got it on this week's nightfall.

I did a weekly strike with my brother. Had a few glasses of wine and played rather badly. Bottom of kills. Died quite a lot. Paid no attention. Got it gifted. Lucky. Very lucky.

Is this news? It's one of many exotics. Those are rare drops. Because it's one of many rare options, it specifically is extra rare.
