Doing my good deed for the day and giving away an expansion pass to one lucky PS4 player who doesn't have the DLC yet.

Hello my fellow friends. My name is Dylan, and I am just another friendly guardian who, like many others in this community, was lucky enough to have access to this incredible DLC. I have been playing Destiny since launch and I've loved every minute of it. That goes without saying I am beyond blessed to be able to partake in this experience. You see, it's not just something as simple as Destiny, or The Dark Below expansion that I'm thankful for, it's everything that led up to it to this very day. Growing up with a roof always over my head, food in my stomach, and a family that cared for me was more than I could ever ask for. My loving mother and father had the interesting adventure of raising me for 18 long years until finally, I enlisted as a Combat Medic in the United States Army during Fall of 2012, and those few things alone have opened the door to so many opportunities for me both career wise and especially financially which in essence ended up leading to the day that I could buy an Xbox One. Now buying an Xbox doesn't sound like much but in the whole grand scheme of things it couldn't have happened without having a solid foundation first. I feel incredibly privileged and I couldn't be happier with life right now. But sadly, there is one downside. Amidst the masses of our lovely gaming community, I know that everyone wasn't given that same luck that I was born into. I know that there are people reading this right now that never knew what a loving family felt like, or even had some one who cared. That had to go some nights without a bed to sleep in or had to go to sleep hungry. They lived a life of darkness that could swallow someone whole, and you know what? If you're reading this, and it describes you, the most important thing is that you made it out alive. That kind of strength inspires me because I don't know where'd I'd be today if I didn't have a hand to help pull me up when I fell down, and it's my turn to be that hand that always helped me. Never be afraid to do something nice for a complete stranger. Little acts of kindness go so much farther than you believe. But what really makes me smile is that I see that in the gaming community more than anywhere else. I have read countless, heartwarming stories such as early last year when a Diablo player known for always being helpful and generous had the most devastating day of his life when his house was annihilated by a Tier 5 tornado. And to his utmost surprise, in less than 24 hours the news got out to his mates he played Diablo with and before he knew it, his fellow gamers had spread a relief campaign across the entire server & a large percentage of Diablo's online population came together, sending him care packages of necessities, offering him a place to stay, and in the end, thousands of people, many of which didn't even know the guy, ultimately managed to raise a massive sum of money to get him back on his feet and it was a truly beautiful moment. Things like that are what makes me believe that humanity still has a chance. We may be a bunch of loud, proud, foul mouthed mother-blam!-ers, but when it comes down to it, we subconsciously care about each other, and it doesn't get any better than that. So I hope you enjoyed my extremely long monologue, and hey, maybe maybe it'll motivate you to one day do something spectacular. And in lieu of this holiday season, I just want to give a small gift of my appreciation to a random person within the world of Destiny. On just one condition. I don't care who you are, what country you live in. If you're male or female, white or black, homosexual or straight, atheist, or Christian. I want to know what makes you, you. Just tell me your name, and your story. It can be 3 words, 3 sentences, or three paragraphs, as long as it's honest. And I will select one person (most likely at random) an hour from now to give redemption code I just purchased for the Destiny Digital Expansion Pass for both The Dark Below and the future release, House of Wolves for the Playstation 4. (I know I play Xbox One, but the PS4 codes were all they had left in stock. Sorry my fellow Microsoft lovers!) It's know it's not much but it's the least I can do for a stranger in need, because I know someone out there would do the same for me. Pay it forward. Those three small words could change someone's life. Happy Holidays everyone. =] Your pal, Wolfgang Native (Xbox One)

  • Touching post man! And your courage to be a medic for the U.S is very admirable. 7 years ago my 8-member family packed their bags and left our home, and country, and the life we knew so well. We settled in western Ukraine, in a small town of around 7,000 by the name of "Rzhyshchiv", and thus began our new life. My parents both had a vision for being missionaries in the Soviet Union, but fate landed us just 1 country shy of Russia itself. Culture and language adaption was a challenge to say the least! During the time we've lived here, we've opened a clean, non-profit, alcohol-free cafe where families can come and relax and enjoy very low priced coffee. Every summer we set up a trampoline and let the native kids come and jump on it (never seeing something quite like it before). We try and help as much as we can, and has been one crazy adventure. Now my family has 10 members, my parents, and 8 kids! me being the oldest. Every summer I return to the west and work for a couple months, bringing in some personal cash flow, and with that I was able to treat myself to a ps4 and destiny. Today we still are in our small Ukrainian town, our home is here, and we continue to give back as much as we can. That's my story! My father has kept a detailed blog of our family since the beginning, you can check it in the link. Merry Christmas:)
