If you don't understand and just dismiss the fact that you can play the nightfall/weekly then it's obvious you haven't thought it through much. Making assumptions and baseless conclusions.
You will not get a refund.
You paid $17.50 for the expansion (not $20)
$17.50/$20 does not have the same value of say 5-10 years ago. You can't compare what content is worth based on what you might have paid for something else in the past. But, if you really want to understand, $20 of today's money is worth about $10 not too long ago.
Lastly, if you don't like it, don't play it. Learn your lesson and never pre-order anything ever again. This will solve your problem, not bitching and complaining on a forum.

First, yes, I work/have a job. $20 is not a lot of money, unless you're a child. Also, the OP bought the collectors edition with the expansion pass. The expansion pass includes 2 expansions for $35. $35 / 2 is 17.50, not 20. Maybe you should try comprehending instead of being a dick.

I make about 20 dollars in about 45 minutes of work, stop working at Mc D's and you should be able to see 20 dollars is chump change. What does 20 get you today, a pizza, 3 packs of smokes, a gram of good smoke.

Right 20$s gets me two movie tickets a pizza or something else. Or I can use it to buy dlc when I play the game all the time and I can replay it any time I want? You people need to stop complaining about everything. I wish bungie would of just not had any dlc and put it In a destiny 2 and laugh at everyone who wouldn't buy it because 60$ "is alot of money"

Oh, and the content takes days to finish at times, and expansions are usually the size of the game itself. All of this for the same price of your "expansions." The reason PC is so different form Consoles via content is the people playing it. People like me who expect more, and people like you who lube up, bend over, and beg for more. Side note: Idk where you live but I wish it cost that much here. I just payed $36 to take my fiancee to see the hobbit, had to get her some popcorn and a drink. Recently had a grand theft here, couple robbed a local movie theater... Cops caught them red handed with 2 cokes and a large popcorn. Estimated value $500.(thats a joke incase you didnt get it)

I have a gaming computer to. Console gaming is different end of story. This is how all dlc is. Cod dlc is the worst. 4 new maps and a new zombie map and that's it. People have been getting the shaft on dlc for awhile and if you expect otherwise you need to go back to pc

As it boils down to it, sadly I believe you are correct and have been fearing this for some time. I was given this Xbox One for xmas from the fiancee so Im in an awkward spot. I cannot just turn around and sell it as I want to do, but as you mentioned heading back to PC is the direction Im in. Was fun for awhile, but I sincerely hope that your community starts to stand up to the developers a bit more so that you get better games released in the future. This past year has been sad in the eyes of gamers all around, and it needs to end.

So just so I understand. You bought the collectors edition which includes this and the next expansion, but you only got a $20 credit? Do you still get the next expansion or did you also get $20 credit for that as well? I assume not and I also assume you won't be able to get that next expansion. So, even if you got a $20 credit, you still paid for the next expansion and likely won't be able to play it either. Sounds like a rip off. But I am glad you got something back. Even if it's just a credit on PSN.

Purchases and Redeem Codes are specific for the item itself, therefor the Expansion Pass would be a $35 refund since it shows up as "Expansion Pass" in your add-on list (PS4). Buying only The Dark Below would be a $20 refund.
