Wait why can't you play the strike before friday? I already played both of the new strikes.

Yeah, he's right - you don't have to do the Xur quest bounty. You just have to finish the mission and patrol quest bounty. Plus, it's part of the Roc playlist which can be played before all of that. The Omnighul strike was actually one of the first things I did in the DLC.

I did and there is no strikes you have to wait for Friday for. You have to wait for Friday to get the urn but it is not required to do either of the new strikes or the weekly/nightfall.
