The Staten quote was from a Halo universe article published by IGN when Reach was released. The Jones quote goes back to the early days when Halo 1 was being developed. Jason and Robt broke away from the Halo team after the release of Halo 2, most likely to create this new universe, so they would have a hand in the story more so than any one else. BTW, how do you know Robt is no longer with Bungie? Back in April, he was still with the group as he was a part of the mail sack. Is it have to do with him taking off his b.net profile?
