We've been seeing a lot of "see you starside" with the Destiny stuff. I used to attribute the tagline with Aerospace, but it seems to be tied in with Destiny, instead. I'm not sure there will be such a huge plot twist, the flood ala halo 1, but I'm sure that the first game in what will most likely be a series is going to establish a good base that could possibly then be bolstered by other medium. take books or even terminal like back story.
