The images with text were a great help for my low attention span and I thank you for that, I especially liked the full colour pictures and arrows pointing to things. This theory is so popular because it seems very plausible. Like you said, I think the main reason this wouldnt happen is because of the evolution of the studio. I still think we will at least see a small reference to it somewhere, even if it isnt the main story.
