I haven't bought it but will probably get it. What's the deal with you needing Cur BEFORE you do the nightfall ?

OP is a dumb ass. You can do the Nightfall once you unlock the strike. You unlock it after the story missions. The Xur mission is the one for likely the gun bounty for what I assume is the Necrochasm.
