I find some of the responses a bit baffling: 1. They had to remove it because if you can get mats for marks, and then marks for mats ... you would exploit the currency I'm sorry what? You got 5 marks for 50 materials. Now you get 20 materials for 10 marks. So I farm 100 materials. I get 10 marks. I trade that. I get 20 materials. I now have 0 marks and 20 materials. I just lost 80 materials. Clearly I am a criminal mastermind who must be stopped. Crucible marks are for Crucible weapons I keep reading this in the forums over and over and over again. There are three main problems with it: 1) The only "crucible" weapons in the game are the ones exclusive to crucible drops or the crucible vendors. Just like a Dead Orbit weapon is only available from Dead Orbit. They're just another manufacturer. By this logic, you should only earn Dead Orbit marks for Dead Orbit weapons. 2) Yes, some weapons are better in PvP than PvE. Guess what - some of them are made by the Vanguard. So, there goes that theory. 3) If anything, the various factions should take Vanguard marks since they are the ones responsible for patrol missions (not Crucible matches). Personally, I never sold my mats for marks because I found it faster to just do a strike or public event. But if people really enjoyed farming patrols - I don't see any valid reason not to reward them for it. Bungie themselves say they want to "expand your play". It would be nice to see them actually do that.

 • Hello, This is Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau (the Peter Sellers one). Kindly and quickly transport yourself to the Destiny Tower police station to be arrested. Criminal mischief thinking is not tolerated in Destiny. You have 24 Destiny hours to comply or I'll come and get you. I'll be falling off the left side of the Tower. Please wait until I can glitch out of my attempted jump down to see the Last City on Earth. I heard a lot about it but haven't seen what I am trying to protect. I looks pretty darn cool the few seconds I can see before my Little Light reconstructs me back up at the Tower. Darn it Cato, stop pushing me off the edge. Glitch me away not towards you imbecile. Who the hell reanimated him anyway. *Queue Pink Panther Theme Song*

 • You know that "more super energy from non guardian kills" armor that FWC sells is majorly OP in the crucible... We can't have people getting that PvP exclusive merchandise without playing PvP.. the sarcasm is strong

 • It can be exploited in that players could buy mats, then sell them and gain Crucible Rep. if they dropped the rep gain, I'd see no issue with it.

 • Thanks, that is all I was trying to say in the long initial rant right after I went to exchange all these materials I have been farming. I never thought I was cheating or using an exploit like some keep replying with. PvP gear sold by vendors? Those replies must be playing another version of Destiny. I never seen it either. Why limit the scope how a game can be played? I can't figure that out either. One would also think that if keeping both ways was some huge mastermind exploit they could have created a fix to keep both sides happy like, um, let all 5 vendors accept both marks. I would be fine with no rep gain since 4/5 vendor access is better than 1/5. I could hold my nose and grind through the Crucible for any Crucible rep I needed until I could use my vanguard marks to buy stuff. One would also assume/expect when removing a feature from day 1 some notes as to why it was removed and how the original way was going to be replaced would also curb the complaints. Just imagine if they removed crucible marks from PvP and replace all vendor purchases with vanguard marks. I assume everyone would love it. The reasoning behind that move would ensure everyone wouldn't cheat themselves out of enjoying ALL parts of Destiny. It would be an exploit if anyone could PvP only and then skip right to the hard raid. Making this change would even more extend the longevity of Destiny. Hell, remove all crucible and vanguard marks and make Guardian marks that only are obtained through completing story missions. We don't want people to forget about the rich drop story line and forget why PvP exists along with the strikes and raids.
