Peer resemblance, if you do it others will do it too, eventually it will be common place. I wave when: players join late to strike, wave to me, respawn me (followed by my ultimate devotion to boosting and defending them, till im needed elsewhere.), and to gloat after punching and killing a boss (cuz im awoken and we bow).
