The "wipe" only gets rid. If the perks, it will maintain a base 300 damage and then gets upgraded from there.

Right, but if you used an exotic shard to get that last node you will have to get another to upgrade again. Not to mention that the "wipe" as you call it treats brand new exotics the same as fully leveled exotics.

Again, base damage stays at 300. It's an opportunity to keep the weapons you used in the base game even after better gear is released in the expansion; something not many other games do.

I agree. I don't know why so many people have read my OP as passing judgement. I just want to make sure that people have all the facts and because all of the information we have now says that fully upgraded exotics and brand new exotics will be treated exactly the same, then waiting makes a lot more sense. Many people likely have legendaries that they can level during the next 1.3 weeks (or so.)

I wonder if the exotics can be refilled without being upgraded already. I suppose only time will tell. Unless I missed something in the article.
-
I don't understand what you mean.

The reset may be restricted to only weapons that are fully upgraded already. If there was something saying one way or the other, I must have missed it.

Interesting.
