There are plenty of people who hate farming materials... From both PVE and PVP sides. They want you to earn marks to get that gear. Which is why they are making it so that you have to have the upgrade materials from the packages you get from ranking up, in order to upgrade said gear. Vanguard shard for vanguard gear, crucible shard for crucible gear. It should be this way. You shouldn't be able to get and upgrade crucible gear without doing to crucible. You also shouldn't have to spend hours on end farming materials for gear that's just going to be replaced.

 • Thanks for telling me how I should play the game and enjoy it. Can't believe I've been playing it the wrong way since the release. Glad they removed a core feature to limit my vendor access from 5 to 1 unless I PvP. It was too hard to keep testing all the kinds of weapons, upgrade them and decide which ones I liked and then get gear to compliment the weapons I want to use. Now I can just use whatever random weapon I get and force myself to like it. I can also force myself to enjoy weapons I don't like since the gear I have only boosts those weapons I hate. Yep, sounds like a great way to enhance game play for all.

 • I'm not saying that you should have to pvp to enjoy the game. I also don't believe the faction gear should only be purchasable with crucible marks. I think you should be able to purchase those with both. I never told you how to play the game, or how to enjoy it. But the entire game shouldn't revolve around you because "you don't like to pvp". The best weapons/armor in the game come from PVE. So there's always that

 • I get that but removing a day 1 feature which allowed those who wanted Faction items is not a good move. Even if you remove the Crucible vendor who doesn't sell crucible items (not sure why they are called Crucible vendors anyway) we still cannot access 3/5 vendors unless we play PvP a lot. You can only get 100 Crucible marks a week. If you want to get 5 weapons and 5 armor from the Faction vendors you'll need to play a hell of a lot of PvP. Why should anyone be forced to do that? Waiting for a fix is fine if there was acknowledgement of one coming. All I see is speculation of possible fixes. Being forced to play PvP to buy items from 80% of the vendors is ridiculous. Rushing through the raid is also not a good solution. There is no guarantee to get what you want. I would rather buy the weapons and armor I want to use and then try to get the raid items that compliment the legendary ones I like. Maybe I farm to unwind and relax. Maybe I do both farming and watching sports. Maybe I farm and chat to others in different games. Sometimes I rather play with no stress. Farming is as stressful as sleeping. Yes I can play PvP and sit but I don't find joy in ruining games unlike most of the vile replies apparently do.

 • Lol well sorry you're getting the hate. And I feel you, there should certainly be more vendors offering things for vanguard marks, and they shouldn't have pulled it without fair warning to gauge the community's reaction.

 • My new shiny ball is DestinyLFG.net, it made me forget PvP at the moment. Hopefully when the DLC drops, both PvE and PvP have more than enough to enjoy and curb all the hate. At least that is what I am leaning towards I really do prefer gaming and having fun over complaining. :)
