I'm assuming that they removed this because of the potential to use marks in order to earn reputation, essentially. You could use marks to get materials, and then use materials to get rep, therefore resulting in much more rep gain for people who don't need marks for anything anymore. Frankly, I think this was a good change, and it was what the majority of players wanted. Myself and many others simply used our marks on legendaries just to dismantle then for ascendant materials (that we didn't even need), which I'm fairly certain was not the intention, so this is a good change for those players. That's not to say there are people disappointed, but you simply can't please everybody. As an example, they patched the raid exploits. Were people upset? Yeah, of course, but it was the right decision, and it had to happen. Same situation here, in order to please all the players, they would have to include both the transactions, but this would upset the balance and be an exploit that ultimately leads to shortened play time. Bungie knows what they are doing, although it might upset some, most of their choices are for the best.

  • You must have skipped past the part where I mentioned that they could have just removed the reputation/glimmer and kept the mark exchange. And before you go into exchanging 1 Mark for the other, consider the following: 10:1 materials for marks + 1:2 marks for materials = 5:1 Mark for Mark Since each mark you gain adds to your 100 weekly cap, yet the ones you spend do not subtract from it, you would have to max 1 type of mark for just 20 of the other, which would leave you unable to gain anymore of that 1st type for the week. Thats a pretty steep cost.

  • While this is true, its not exactly practical, and they cant do tons of little things like this to please several minorities. Your idea is valid, but there are countless valid ideas here on the forums, and frankly DeeJ is not going to see them all. Maybe apply for bungie (:

Hey, they put the system in place to begin with, so people got accustomed to using it. Than, instead of tweaking it to function with the New system, they removed it entirely. Leaveing those that counted on it out in the cold. So, because it directly effected my game experience, I left feedback regarding that change. Apparently other people also agree. If anyone from Bungie does or does not read it or decide to do anything about it, I did what I could to express how that change effected those that used the system they removed. Unless I'm mistaken, I think that's what feedback is for.

  • Lol I'm not here to argue, I'm here to tell you why this change happened, at least in my opinion. Take it or leave it
